Policies for Events

Invitation start time – To ensure that your event runs smoothly, please list the same start time on your invitation as you have contracted with us. We do ask that you remind your guests to allow sufficient time and have their driver’s license out and ready to hand to the guard for ease of entry on to the property.

Insurance – We offer a list of highly recommended licensed and insured vendors. We understand that some hosts have their personal favorites; therefore, all non-recommended vendors must supply Lago Mar with a Certificate of Liability Insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000.00 per occurrence and $2,000,000.00 aggregate. Please list Lago Mar Country Club, 500 NW 127th Avenue, Plantation, FL 33325 as added insured.

Minimum Guarantee and Final Payment – If you have chosen a buffet package your Minimum Guarantee along with final payment is due three (3) business days prior to your event. If your event is a Pre-determined entrée plated meal, you must give a total count three (3) business prior to your event, of each entrée chosen. In either case, once minimum guarantee and final payment has been made, there will be a menu price plus an additional $5.00++ per person for each additional guest you have added or is in attendance.

Payment Schedule – A $500.00 minimum deposit to retain the date. 1/3 of total amount due six months prior. 2/3 of total due three months prior. Total due 30 days prior to event. Some exceptions apply. Personal checks are accepted up to 21 days prior to event. Cashier’s checks will be accepted within the final 21 days. Sorry NO CREDIT CARDS.

Alcoholic Beverage Service – Alcoholic beverages are served only to adults 21 years of age or older. The Club reserves the right to ask for proper identification. In addition, the Club reserves the right to discontinue alcoholic beverage service to any person (in the Club’s opinion) that has consumed too much alcohol or is providing alcoholic beverages to minors.

Security – Any event including but not limited to Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Quinces, Sweet Sixteen or any other event expecting 20 or more minors will require a minimum of one security guard.

Outside Food and Beverage – No food or beverage is allowed to be brought in to Lago Mar with the exception of Specialty Cakes and Kosher meals.

Removal of Food and Beverages – Due to Florida State Health Food and Safety Laws, no food items or beverages may be removed from the property.

Decorations and Party Items – No items/decorations are allowed to be adhered to the walls or windows with nails, tape, glue, or tacks, etc. that will change the integrity of the room. No “scatters” on any surfaces. This or any other damage may result in an additional cleanup/repair fee.

Vendor Meals – Lago Mar offers non-alcoholic drinks to all vendors. We do not allow any vendors or their staff any alcoholic beverages while on duty. Hosts normally supply their vendors with a meal as they are here prior to your arrival and after your departure. We are happy to offer special pricing for these meals.

Vendor Supplies – Vendors must supply all necessary items related to their craft. Included but not limited to tables, table cloths, extension cords, batteries, etc. Additional fees will apply in the event Lago Mar supplies these items.

Vendor Access – Vendors are allowed access up to two hours prior to event start time. If a vendor needs time beyond two hours, please make necessary arrangements with your Catering Director.

Swimming Pool Events – Certified, Insured Lifeguard(s,) based on the amount of guests, must be present during the length of your pool party.

Cancellations and Date Changes – Cancellation must be submitted in writing with a date and signature. If cancellation is made less than 30 days prior to the event, the host is charged 100% of the total due. All deposits are non-refundable. In the case of postponements, certain fees may apply.
