Meet the Tennis Staff

Steve Shine- Director of Tennis [PTR Certified Professional, USTA Level I Sports Science Certified, USTA High Performance Coach]

Steve has been involved with coaching elite junior tennis players and WTA/ATP Tour players since 1989. In the past 20 years, Steve has helped mold the world-class games of countless individuals, including several ITF Top 50 players. Steve is a PTR Certified Professional and a USTA High Performance Coach (1997). Steve has also served as Coach to “Team Florida” at National Junior Team Competitions, bringing home the Gold Medal on more than one occasion.

Using methods similar to the ones he used to develop some of the best junior players in the world, Steve can elevate the level of any adult player; regardless of their current level. Steve understands that not everyone wants to be a "Pro" and he is an expert at tailoring his group and private instruction to the specific needs of those students involved. In addition, Steve works closely with his professional staff to ensure they are up-to-date on all of the latest tennis instruction information.

Keith Axelrod- Tennis Professional [USPTA Certified Professional]

Keith has been on our staff since 2007. He is only a part-time pro for Lago Mar because he works full-time at the Bill Clark Tennis Academy in Cooper City, FL. Keith has extensive experience in all aspects of the game: adult, junior, beginner/intermediate and advanced tennis. Due to his part-time status, clinic and lesson opportunities with Keith are limited, but are also worth the wait.

Cher Peretin-  Tennis Instructor [PTR Certified Instructor]

Cher has been a vital part of the staff since 2007.  Cher can do it all: Cardio Tennis, Pro Shop Attendant, Summer Junior Tennis Camp, even light court maintenance duties. She is as much an assistant manager as she is an instructor. She helps organize round robins and special events in addition to playing in those events whenever she is needed.
